Everything changed for Chuluunbaatar when he wanted to help a car that had fallen into frozen waters. He sprung into action, but as he went to reach for a towrope, one of its teeth fell onto his leg and he suffered a horrific leg break.
Since the accident, Chuluunbaatar struggles with severe pain when the weather is poor. This has affected his ability to find stable work, and now Chuluunbaatar faces homelessness in a city that can experience winters as cold as -40°C. With limited social services in the city, people like Chuluunbaatar turn to the Church for support.
The Church in Mongolia hopes to address this gap through the House of Mercy. It will provide more than just a shelter; it will provide food, showers, basic medical care and a sanctuary for people experiencing homelessness or fleeing domestic violence.
Your compassion will help create a lasting impact for the people of Mongolia.
In his World Mission Day message for 2024, Pope Francis calls us to “Go and invite everyone to the banquet” (Matthew 22:9). This is a call for us to share the love of God with everyone and invite them to a place at His table, which the Church in Mongolia is doing through the work of the House of Mercy.
We invite you to join this work too. Your support will ensure the Church can reach more people in Mongolia.
Join us in sharing the banquet of The Lord.
