Joy can arrive in a burst or settle as a quiet feeling, filling our hearts and reaching those around us. Through a smile, a kind gesture or shared laughter, it finds its way from one person to another. Even when life is difficult, joy can remind us that there is still goodness to cherish. We make room for it when we celebrate one another, take time to enjoy being together and welcome others into that happiness. In these moments, hope becomes something we can see, feel and share.
“It is genuine joy that gives flavor to life and brings to light something that was not there before. This joy springs from a way of life, a way of inhabiting the earth and of living together that must be desired and chosen.”
Pope Leo XIV, Angelus, 8 February 2026.
