See Our Work in Action
We’d like to give you the chance to get to know us a bit better through our work and stories from the field of the great work taking place around the world.
Mission: one heart many voices (MOHMV), Catholic Mission's national biennial conference, will return from 3 to 5 May 2027 at the SMC Conference & Function Centre, Sydney, unveiling a refreshed identity, renewed program and expanded conference experience.
Building on the success of previous conferences, the eighth MOHMV 2027 introduces a new logo, refreshed brand and visual identity, alongside new keynote speakers, expanded formation opportunities and interactive experiences designed to foster encounter and collaboration. The renewed look marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the conference, shaped by participant feedback and the growing desire for a space where people can come together to share, learn and be inspired by the stories of mission.
The conference announcement during NAIDOC Week reflects the committee's ongoing commitment to reconciliation and to journeying together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
"Announcing the save-the-date of the conference during NAIDOC Week was a deliberate and meaningful decision," said Jenny Collins-White, Conference Committee member and Director of Mission Formation at Catholic Mission.
"In consultation with the Sydney Catholic Aboriginal Ministry, who are represented on our conference committee, we wanted to acknowledge that reconciliation is an essential part of the Church's missionary journey. The conference will begin by reflecting on our shared commitment to walking together, with a Smoking Ceremony at Mary MacKillop Place North Sydney marking the beginning of our time together in a spirit of healing, respect and hope."
Following the 2025 conference, the organising committee undertook an extensive review, gathering feedback from participants, presenters and partners. The insights confirmed the importance of providing a space where the Australian Church can encounter one another across ministries and generations, strengthening relationships and renewing its shared commitment to mission.
"We received overwhelming feedback from the community that they wanted the conference to be held again," said Danielle Achikian, Conference Director.
"People told us they were looking for a space where they could connect across ministries, share experiences and be renewed in mission. That feedback has shaped every aspect of the 2027 conference.
"Alongside a refreshed visual identity and new program, we have reimagined the conference experience to create an even more welcoming and engaging space. With the encouragement and support of our Reference Committee, including Bishop Tim Norton SVD, we are excited to invite both returning and first-time participants to join us for this next chapter."
The refreshed program will feature nationally recognised speakers expert in their field, practical workshops, immersive experiences and new opportunities for networking, prayer and formation, creating a well-rounded conference experience that equips participants to live and share the Gospel in their own communities.
Over the coming months, the committee will progressively unveil keynote speakers, program highlights and new conference experiences, inviting all of the Australian Church to journey together towards the conference.
