Sisters of Charity of Milan Boarding School -Rajshahi

There are 55 poor and orphaned children living at the Sisters of Charity Boarding School. They receive shelter, food, bedding, clothing, medical care, books and school materials. Most of the people in the area are very poor landless people.

They live on the land of other people and earn their livelihood by working as day labourers in the field of their landlords, and are often exploited and oppressed. The Sisters of Charity want to save the children from this future life, so they take them to their boarding school where they are educated so they can have a brighter future and go on to other professions.

Shiuthilia Mardy is a poor girl in the boarding school. She is eight years old. She lost her father suddenly when she was just one. Her father was a very poor man and left nothing for his young widow and child. Her mother did not marry again.

She started to work in the field of another landlord as a daily worker and earned little money to support Shiuthilia. The Sisters found them and brought them both to the boarding school. Shiuthilia is now in class two and studying well. She is growing like the other children. Bothshe and her mother are happy and feel at home with the sisters and the others at the school.
