Welcome to The Catholic Mission Gift Registry
Catholic Mission’s Gift Registry is designed to give where it is needed most. 80 percent of the world’s population is living on less than $2 a day. At Catholic Mission we are the Australian arm of the Catholic Church’s global mission aid agency in a worldwide network known as the Pontifical Mission Societies. For more than 185 years we have been working to achieve ‘Life for all’ in more than 160 countries.
There are three main areas of work.
The first is the Church, where we foster local church leadership. We train and assist local leaders in their own communities.
The second area is essentially the Communities, where we partner with local church communities. Every day people in these communities cope with everything from extreme poverty, HIV/AIDS, to persecution from military dictatorships.
The third area of work is with Children. We feed, nourish, immunise, educate and care for children all over the world, regardless of race or creed.
The Gift registry is designed for those people who are difficult to buy for, who may have everything they need, but would appreciate a donation on their behalf. You choose the area of work, the recipient of the gift will receive a certificate explaining which area of work your donation will go to.
All donations received via your use of the Gift Registry are allocated to relevant Catholic Mission projects around the world. Some gifts raise more funds than our project partners are able to use in that way or funding for that project may have been successfully finalised. When this happens, Catholic Mission will redirect your donation to other activities in the same project and country or to another equally worthwhile project. You are still able to receive the Catholic Mission gift card for the item in the Gift Registry you selected. |
