Mary Immaculate students with their gold coin heart | Students at Mary Immaculate Primary School, Quakers Hill have recently been having fun raising money for Catholic Mission during World Mission Month in October.
Both Infants and Primary Students enjoyed the “Mission Movie Madness” where they paid $5 to watch a movie over two lunchtimes and enjoy a Popper and pizza one day, and popcorn the next day. Infants students watched “Horton Hears a Who” whilst the Primary students enjoyed “Nim’s Island”.
The following week all students donated a gold coin to Catholic Mission and formed a loveheart shape on the ground with their coins.
During Mission Month, Mary Immaculate students learned about the work of Catholic Mission through their DVD and CD school resources. They learned about some young children in an orphanage in Thailand who are being helped to live as one family, with support from Catholic Mission funding.
All money raised through the school goes to help children all around the world live full and happy lives.
