Prayer for Myanmar/Burma

The suffering caused by the cyclone in Myanmar/Burma calls for a time of prayer, and help for the people of Myanmar/Burma.

Together with the Holy Father who calls for prayers for these families, Catholic Mission invites you to join in prayer for the survivors in their suffering and sadness and for those who have died.

You may like to use the following prayer with your school community in supporting our brothers and sisters in Burma.

Lord, may the sufferings of your people end And may their future be better.
We especially pray for the people of Burma who need you at this time.

Give them extra strength to face whatever may come;
Today more than ever they need to feel you near to overcome their fear,

as they cannot face the trouble caused by the cyclone on their own.
These are times when friends can help,

and through our friendship feel you near.
Touch our hearts to respond generously to their need

Today Lord, through our help may you hold their trembling hands.
This we pray through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
